Brighton manager Fabian Herzeler has hailed Kaoru Mitoma as a complete player after his impressive performance in the recent win over Manchester United at home.

Mitoma restored Brighton’s lead in the second half to become Japan’s record Premier League scorer with 15 goals, overtaking former Leicester striker Shinji Okazaki.
“He knows how to use his speed to make deep runs at the right time and at the right moment,” Herzeler said of the Japan international. “He’s an important player, really important.”
“That’s because he has everything. He’s fast, he’s good in one-on-ones, he can score goals and he can survive in tight spaces and short periods.”
The latest goal means Mitoma is the all-time top scorer for Japanese players in the Premier League, with 15, overtaking former Leicester striker Shinji Okazaki, who scored 14 in the 2015/16 title-winning side.
“I’m really happy to work with him,” Herzeler continued. “He’s a good breaker. I’m not a stats guy, but the stats are great and I have to congratulate him.”
Brighton are back up to ninth in the table, having completed a hat-trick of away victories in all competitions following eight games without a win in the league, a run launched by a 4-0 victory over Norwich in the FA Cup. They return to league action at home to Everton on Saturday.
